Many people with PG also have other health conditions. Sometimes, treating these conditions can also help with PG.

Commonly Associated Conditions:

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
This includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Some people notice that their PG flares when their IBD is active

Blood Disorders
This includes conditions like leukemia, myelodysplastic syndromes, or other abnormalities in blood cell counts

Arthritis
Especially inflammatory types like rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis
Joint pain, stiffness, and/or swelling may occur alongside skin symptoms

Other Immune-Mediated Conditions
Some people with PG also have autoimmune diseases

Why This Matters

If you have PG and one of these conditions, your care team may take this into account when choosing treatment options. Some medications can help both PG and associated conditions.
