What are the symptoms of Pyoderma Gangrenosum (PG)?
PG looks different from person to person but usually begins as a small bump or sore and is often mistaken for a pimple or insect bite. It quickly becomes a deep painful ulcer with a raised purplish border. These wounds are the most common on the legs, although they can occur anywhere on the body. Wounds may heal in the center and continue to spread around the edges.
Common Symptoms Include:
- Rapidly growing, painful skin ulcers
- Purple raised border around the ulcer
- Fever and joint pain sometimes occur
- New ulcers following trauma
