Lasaunia "So" Thompson is a resilient individual who has transformed personal battles into victories, becoming a beacon of inspiration for others. A proud native of Washington, D.C., she completed her education in DC Public Schools and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Trinity University.
With over 34 years of experience as a licensed cosmetologist, Lasaunia leads the "SoBelt Women's Organization," which fosters a supportive environment for women to flourish. Her mission is to help women develop for greatness, guiding them from where they've been to where they aspire to be. SoBelt’s signature event is its annual themed women’s retreat, offering an intimate and transformative experience.
Having faced significant health challenges, including living with the rare disease Pyoderma Gangrenosum, Lasaunia has turned her journey into a platform for advocacy and awareness. Her experience fuels her commitment to creating space for others navigating rare or misunderstood illnesses, offering both practical resources and emotional support. After overcoming a seven-year battle with an undisclosed illness, she transitioned from pain to peace and from wounds to wellness. Her journey stands as a testament to resilience, victory, and personal growth.
To further support individuals on their personal growth journeys, Lasaunia created "So's Tiny Tidbits 2024," a set of daily affirmation cards designed to provide tools, tips, and encouragement. These cards offer daily inspiration and practical support for those facing life's challenges.
Looking to expand her impact, Lasaunia plans to amplify her inspirational message through speaking engagements, with the goal of inspiring and empowering a broader audience.
Her motto: Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting, get understanding.– Proverbs 4:7
